A plea bargain is an agreement in a criminal case between the prosecutor and the defendant, where the defendant agrees to plead guilty to a lesser charge or to one of multiple charges in exchange for some concession from the prosecutor. This concession might include a reduced sentence, the dismissal of other charges, or a recommendation for a lighter penalty.

You are offered a pill. If you take it, then, for the rest of your life, you will feel immensely guilty whenever you do something that is morally wrong. Once you have taken the pill, there is no way of reversing its effects. No one else has been offered the pill.
